Objectives: Students will be exposed to many genera and species of annuals, herbaceous perennials, houseplants, flowering bulbs and aquatic (water gardening) plants.

 

Goals:  By the end of this course the student will:

1.     be able to identify approximately 200 species of annual/herbaceous perennial plants to family, genus and species;

2.     possess knowledge of the cultural requirements of the plants including location in the landscape, care and flowering periods; and,

3.     understand propagative techniques, requirements and options for annuals and perennials.
