Research:  

My research is centered around fungal leaf diseases of small cereal grains with emphasis on rusts and mildews of wheat and barley. This includes the detection and development of resistant germplasm, the incorporation of resistance sources into breeding programs and the monitoring of fungal virulence patterns. Non-traditional types of resistance and their potential use are being investigated.
