Research:
Molecular genetics and cereal chemistry of small grain quality. Identifying the genetic and biochemical basis of end use quality aspects such as grain hardness and starch quality. Development of selective molecular tests useful in screening wheat and barley germplasm for desired end-use quality
AREA OF RESPONSIBILITY
Conduct research on genes affecting small grain quality and yield. Examine the effect of selected candidate genes upon wheat milling and baking quality. Utilize modern plant biotechnology approaches such as transformation. Teaching currently consists of PSPP 426 (Plant Biotechnology) and PSPP 446 (Crop Breeding).
